Real, honest, friendly voiceover is here to stay.
Getting voice over script breakdowns or specs saying words like "conversational", "friendly", or "real", is about as common as breathing now. And I couldn't be happier about it! I'm not saying that just because that style is my wheelhouse, but it also shows how far we've come in advertising.
We're in the new era of corporate responsibility, transparency, relatability, and brand awareness. The evolution trickles down to concepts and campaigns that make the audience feel a real connection. What would you rather listen to, someone just talking to you, or someone shouting? Yeah...me too.
While I'm fortunate to work with agencies, producers, and creatives to bring that "conversational" style, I appreciate how the industry has shifted. It keeps every collaborative person honest in their designs and transparent in their dealings.
The video above was booked with the super sweet agency Staplegun. They do great work, and it was awesome to bring my conversational voice over vibe to the project. It's a true example of how scripting has shifted, and sounding honest, credible, and real leads the way.
